Anecdotally, 100% of the Oregon women I've surveyed HATE the idea of pumping their own gas. I'm not kidding. Every time I bring this up with friends, the men go "yes!" and the women go "AH FUCK NAH." I believe this is the same reason that we have so few manual transmissions in the U.S.: women don't prefer it.
